Payback Originals was started in 2021 by founder and CEO Joseph Adesugba who grew up immersed in streetwear culture in Houston, Texas. Even as a high school student, Joseph had an unrelenting passion for fashion and would spend weekends thrifting rare vintage finds and customizing his own tees and hoodies. He brought Houston flavor to the emerging streetstyle scene happening on the coasts. As he got older, Joseph tried his hand at designing his own pieces. He would hand-sew full lines of original streetwear creations to sell locally and even out of his car trunk on occasion. The pieces always sold out instantly - which showed Joseph he had an eye for this.

Before long, Joseph decided to step out in faith pursuing his love for fashion and launched his own company centered around premium quality streetwear basics for men and women. Payback Originals was born out of Joseph's desire to bring high-end yet accessible clothing with attention to detail in the construction and handmade customizations that first sparked his obsession with garment culture decades ago.

         The name "Payback" represented giving back and paying tribute to the OG street pioneers who influenced Joseph’s style so much over the years growing up.

Joseph leads a small tight-knit team operating a meticulously curated retail flagship space in Houston to go along with growing online distribution. He works hands-on with his designers and production team domestically manufacturing the majority of Payback Originals pieces worn by supporters around the globe.

      As CEO and Creative Director, Joseph brings Houston edge and diversity to the brand while pushing the envelope on quality over hype. He has organically fostered connections with the brightest rising names in music and fashion to collaborate with Payback on limited capsule collections.

     Going into its third year, Payback Originals drops sell out quicker every season as Joseph and team stay ahead of the curve - focused on leading with innovation not imitation.
